Why dev1ce will miss Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024

Danish professional player Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, known as one of the most decorated esports athletes in the history of CS:GO, will not be able to take part in the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: European RMR. According to dev1ce himself, he is temporarily withdrawing from competitions to focus on his health.

The player reported that a relapse of stress symptoms that first appeared in 2022 has resurfaced. The exacerbation occurred after a stressful trip to BLAST Premier: World Final 2024 in Singapore. Lack of sleep, general fatigue and increased heart rate were the main reasons that forced dev1ce to seek medical help.

“I need time to get back into shape both mentally and physically. I want to recover completely so that I can enjoy the game again, and not worry about my health,” dev1ce said in an official statement.

dev1ce Replacement: br0 is getting ready

Alexander “br0” Bro will temporarily return to replace dev1ce in the Astralis roster. The young player is already familiar with the team, as he previously played for them in some matches. Despite the limited time for preparation, br0 quickly joined the training process and is quickly adapting to the team’s requirements. Astralis’ sports director, commenting on the current situation, emphasized the importance of br0’s return:

“We are grateful to Alexander for his professionalism and willingness to help the team in a difficult time. He was on the bench, but always maintained excellent shape, and is now ready to contribute to Astralis’ success at the tournament.”

br0 himself, in turn, said that he perceives this opportunity as a big challenge and a chance to show his best qualities. “I will do my best to justify the team’s trust and please our fans,” the player noted.
